Leak Adjustment Policy Update

On December 10, 2025, the Calaveras County Water District adopted Ordinance No. 2025-01, updating our Leak Adjustment Policy to better serve customers who experience significant water leaks on their side of the meter.

Key points include:

• Approval Limits: The General Manager may approve adjustments up to $1,000; larger amounts require Board approval.
• Request Process: Customers must submit a written request using the official form and provide documentation of circumstances.
• Calculation: Adjustments apply to one billing period and cover 50% of the excess amount compared to the same period in the previous year.
• Frequency: One adjustment is allowed every five years per account, with an option for a second adjustment if a larger leak occurs within that timeframe.
