What is Potholing?
Potholing, also known as utility locating, is a vital step before laying new water lines. It involves carefully excavating small sections of the ground to identify existing underground utilities. This process plays an important role in ensuring safe and efficient construction.
Benefits of Potholing:
- Prevents Damage: Accurately locates underground utilities to avoid service disruptions and safety hazards.
- Ensures Accuracy: Confirms the precise position and depth of utilities to avoid conflicts during construction.
- Cost Efficiency: Identifies potential issues early, reducing delays and costly repairs.
- Improved Planning: Helps optimize project design and routing for better overall efficiency.
