Jeff Davidson
Jeff Davidson was born in Rockford, Illinois, but his family relocated to Livermore during his early childhood. There, he attended grade school and high school, where he had his first taste of politics as the student body president of Livermore High School. In his junior year, his family moved to Tracy, where he graduated high school in 1978. He went on to attend Delta College, earning an associate of arts degree. Throughout his high school and college years, Davidson worked for his father’s cement contracting business. At the age of 23, he obtained his general contractor’s license, and by 26, he was building speculative homes. Over the years, Davidson has built a successful career in the residential and commercial construction industry, specializing in concrete work, homebuilding, and large commercial facilities. For the past decade, he has focused on constructing metal buildings in the Sierra Foothills and Central Valley regions.
In 1986, Davidson’s parents moved to the Sierra Foothills, and he followed them to Calaveras County in 1990. He quickly became active in the local community, joining the West Calaveras Chamber of Commerce and serving as its president. Among his notable achievements, he helped establish the annual fireworks show at New Hogan Lake, an event that now attracts over 10,000 visitors to Valley Springs. Davidson has also served on the board of the Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Valley Springs Area Business Association. While raising his children, he dedicated about 10 years to coaching youth baseball and soccer teams.
Davidson’s involvement with the Calaveras County Water District (CCWD) began in the late 1990s when he started attending board meetings as a member of the public. After a year of active participation, he ran for a seat on the Board of Directors in 1999 and won. Over the past 24 years, Davidson has become the longest-serving active member of the CCWD Board, holding leadership roles such as vice president, president, and chair of numerous committees during his six terms.
Currently residing in Rancho Calaveras, Davidson has three grown children who are pursuing their college education. When he isn’t managing his construction business or fulfilling his CCWD responsibilities, he enjoys hunting, spending summers at his cabin in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, and quality time with his family.
